What is AdDogs?
AdDogs is a virtual advertising agency. Think of Travelocity™ for the advertising and media industries.
Why use AdDogs?
Technology has finally caught up with the advertising industry! The ability to create an ad, search demographics to find your audience, and search the relevant media for simple placement in thousands of media possiblities is now at your fingertips. No longer do you have to do your advertisement over and over for submission in multiple media. AdDogs is a patent pending process that makes advertising a do - it - yourself process 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
Does AdDogs cost more?
It is unlikely. In fact, it is more likely that you will save quite a bit by designing and ordering your own advertisements. No payments to agencies, no more wasted time on hold or trying to explain what you want to customer service rep, no more need to redesign for each media outlet, no more advertising dollars squandered on media not relevant to your needs. The advertising rates listed by AdDogs come from the media directly and, in some cases, the media have quoted lower rates than you would receive by calling them directly. Remember, the cost of ad placement begins with the cost of the actual ad but should include the cost of design and placement. It ends with the effectiveness of the the advertising in reaching your target audience.
Are the rates quoted for national advertisers?
The print industry has many ways to define "national advertising". In all cases the AdDogs quoted rates are for local advertising. Advertising deemed to be national by the selected media are subject to quoted rates and will result in an additional charge.
What if I have a negotiated contract rate with the media?
AdDogs will allow you to take advantage of that rate in the media insertion process.
How do I pay?
AdDogs accepts no credit cards directly, but still allows you to pay using your credit card or, if you have one, your Amazon account. Alternatively an account can be set up with AdDogs subject to credit approval.
Can AdDogs provide customized advertising help?
Absolutely. Our staff of seasoned advertising staff is ready to help you with any of your needs. Click here for details.
It seems like many of the AdDogs features are available to use for free. Is this correct?
Absolutely. All of the demographic and media search tools are available at no cost.
Can I utilize advertising I already have designed?
Yes you can. AdDogs allows for the upload and placement of such advertising. Please remember however, uploaded advertising must be provided of a size to match the specifications of the media and the size of the selected advertisement. AdDogs cannot manipulate uploaded advertising to adjust for the size of ad or the specifications of the selected media.
Does AdDogs guarantee the placement of my ad?
No, all advertising accepted by AdDogs is subject to review and acceptance by the media the same way all of their advertising is accepted. If your advertisement is denied you will be notified.
What browsers do the AdDogs websites support?
Sadly, browser support is an area fraught with potholes. You can use any browser you like on our site, but we're focused (as of the date of writing this addendum, July 2009) on support for Internet Explorer 7, Firefox, and Google Chrome. Other browsers may work, but:
  • Internet Explorer 6 has well-known and serious weaknesses that we've chosen not to waste time programming around.
  • Internet Explorer 8, while an interesting effort, has enough operational bugs (not security - rendering and stability problems) that the author of this entry has removed it from his machine within the past 30 minutes of this writing, reverting back to version 7.
  • Opera is marginally supported, but it, too, has operational issues, and the maintainers of that product have headed in a direction that indicates they're not serious about gaining wider use of the product, so we've removed it from the list of browsers we program to support.
  • Safari should work, insofar as it is able to display any site with a hint of stability - it's based on the same code as the Google Chrome browser.
If you have problems with display quality, and are not running one of the browsers we specifically support, we'd request that you install one of those. We won't keep you from using an unsupported browser, but until the browser market situation changes, we also won't be making changes to try to chase the ghosts inherent in inferior products. And in that event, we pre-emptively apologize for any inconvenience you may experience.
